CRITICAL RESULTS
The following findings must be called to the referring physician or resident. Document in your report who, time, and date. Rev. 3/3/08.
- Pulmonary embolism
- Bleed-Intracranial or subarachnoid hemorrhage
- Epidural hematoma
- Pericardial hemorrhage (tamponade)
- Hemorrhage: intracranial, intra-abdominal/retroperitoneal or intrathoracic
- Cerebral herniation
- Pneumothorax
- Aortic dissection
- Bowel volvulus
- Spinal cord compression
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Testicular or Ovarian torsion
- Acute Severe Spinal Cord Compression
- Bowel stenosis or perfortation
- Severe Infection/abscess
- Fracture: spinal or sternal (acute, associated with soft tissue injury)
- Severe infection or abscess
- Small Bowel Obstruction
Tuberculosis cases: Upon suspicion of TB, cavitary lesion or miliary pattern which is highly suspicious for TB, contact the Infection Control Nurse Specialist at 449-4779.
